Frequently Asked Questions
The most frequently asked question is "How much does it cost to rebuild my transmission?", or "What
is the price of a rebuilt transmission?"
Each brand and type has a different cost, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, many transmissions
don't need a complete rebuild. You might well be pricing a rebuild when all you need is a clutch adjustment, a
computer chip reprogram, or a new vacuum switch. Save yourself time and money by getting a free expert diagnosis. Please,

A common reason for a transmission to need rebuilding is caused by towing heavy loads. A word to the wise: get
yourself a transmission cooler. Transmissions are normally cooled by tubes inside your radiator. When the temperature
rises from the extra load, neither the engine or the transmission are cooled properly because the radiator was
not designed to handle the extra cooling requirement. It really does take an external cooler to make up for the
additional heat caused by towing. |
